Ansa Biotechnologies, a company specializing in advanced DNA synthesis, announced the global launch of its 50 kilobase (kb) Clonal DNA product, now the longest sequence-perfect synthetic DNA commercially available.
Powered by Ansa’s proprietary enzymatic DNA synthesis platform, the new product allows researchers to design and receive complete, error-free DNA constructs within 25 days or less, supported by the company’s On-Time Guarantee—the only such assurance currently offered in the industry.
Traditional chemical synthesis methods typically reach their limit at about 10 kb, requiring researchers to manually assemble fragments. This process is time-consuming and error-prone. Ansa’s enzymatic platform bypasses these limitations by enabling direct synthesis of long, complex sequences with higher precision and reduced environmental impact.
Each construct undergoes long-read sequencing and proprietary informatics-based verification to ensure sequence accuracy. Under the Ansa On-Time Guarantee, customers who do not receive their orders within the committed timeline are eligible to receive the DNA free of charge.
“Ansa has provided us with extremely long and complex constructs we couldn't get anywhere else,” said Dr. Molly Gasperini, Associate Director of Genome Engineering at the Allen Institute’s Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology. “For sequences as long as 50 kb, other providers often reject or quote lengthy delivery times. Without Ansa, we couldn't obtain them so efficiently, affordably, and reliably — or at all.”
The product launch follows a successful early access program involving over 20 leading research organizations. Participants applied Ansa’s long DNA constructs to projects in synthetic genomics, metabolic engineering, agriculture, and cell and gene therapy, overcoming long-standing technical barriers in gene synthesis.
The ultra-long, fully verified constructs are now available worldwide, priced from $0.28 per base pair with turnaround times under 25 business days. Ansa employs a transparent, length-based pricing model, where the per-base cost decreases as sequence length increases.
